From Oct. 23 to 26, the worldwide leading trade show for the flat glass
industry — Glasstec — opened its doors in Düsseldorf, Germany to 1,162
exhibitors and about 43,000 visitors from 86 different countries. Under
the slogan "All From One," Lisec took this opportunity to present a
number of recent developments and innovations to an international
audience of experts. One of the highlights was the FlyOver loading crane
for glass cutting machines. The intelligent one-row design of the suction
bridge allows it to move diagonally above the entire glass storage area when no
glass is being transported. In this way, the bridge will automatically follow
the shortest path to the next storage rack, which minimises cycle times and
keeps cutting machines working at full capacity. This Lisec innovation offers
another revolutionary advantage, besides the significant time savings achieved:
It renders costly remnant plate storage systems obsolete by transporting
remnants back to the glass storage area and by using the storage racks as
remnant plate racks.

The fully automatic insulating glass line for
the industrial manufacture of triple glazing units in an optimum cycle time included
the new multiple spacer applicator for different types of flexible spacers, and
introduced an improved sealing process that significantly enhances the quality
of glazing units. Within the system for the manufacture of
laminated safety glass, Lisec exhibited the energy-saving pre-lamination
furnace and, for the very first time, a non-contact horizontal washing system.
The latter is a pioneering innovation especially in processing glass sheets
with sensitive surface coatings. The operational availability of individual
glass processing machines is a key success factor not only in production lines,
but also with stand-alone equipment. Lisec presented a number of
automation solutions intended to maximize the machines' availability across
their lifetime but also assist operators in maintenance. The expert in glass
machinery showcased its comprehensive range of products for glass edge
processing, laminated glass cutting and spacer production, and introduced the after
sales support and project planning services they offer.
