Apr. 23, 2010 – ClearShield Technologies, LLC has announced that the ClearShield System has been adhesion tested by C.R. Laurence (CRL), and three of CRL’s silicone sealants have been approved for use with the system.

In making the announcement, Marc Eisenberg, Vice-President of ClearShield Technologies stated, “These results are very important to us, because our ClearShield System is ideal for the frameless shower door market, and C.R. Laurence is a market leader in shower door hardware and sealants. Our system is ideal for glass shower enclosures that are susceptible to unsightly water spots that are difficult to remove from unprotected glass.  Protection with ClearShield is effective in shower and bathroom environments because it resists lime scale that is literally etched into the surface of the glass.”

“The three C.R. Laurence sealants were lab-tested using industry test method ASTM C-794 and approved for use are: the popular CRL 33S Acetoxy Silicone Sealant, which is clear in color and available with a fungicide (33SMRC); CRL RTV408 Neutral Cure Silicone, which showed even stronger adhesion, and is also clear in color (RTV408C); CRL 95C Silicone Building Sealant, which is ideal for stone substrates typically found in high end frameless shower enclosures.”

Marc concludes, “ClearShield is not only ideal for shower enclosures, but also residential glass, architectural glazing, and glass renovation.  ClearShield forms a strong, multi-molecular bond on the surface of the glass. This unique polymeric resin provides years of proven protection.  ClearShield Low-Maintenance/Easy Clean Glass prevents contaminants from bonding to the surface and limits further damage caused by corrosion and chemical attack. Glass can be kept looking like new and easy to clean using normal cleaning methods.”

The ClearShield System provides solutions for glass renovation, protection and maintenance, and can therefore be used in the factory or applied on-site to installed glass to produce ClearShield ‘Non-Stick’ Glass. This higher quality of glass is the winner of numerous industry awards, and ClearShield Glass Technology offers complete commercial and technical support for operations, sales, and marketing to all users and dealers.  For additional information, contact ClearShield Technologies, LLC at (847) 671-4584 or visit www.clearshieldonline.com .
