Pneumofore lands HNGI projects

April 11, 2011 – Hindustan National Glass and Industries (HNGI), the largest manufacturer of container glass in India, with about 65 per cent share of the market, confirmed Pneumofore as a key supplier for two new projects in Naidu Peta and Nashik.

Pneumofore, specialized in rotary vane vacuum pumps and centralized vacuum systems
manufacturing, first supplied HNGI in 2008 with a new vacuum system commissioned and
installed in the plant owned by the Group in Bahadurgarh, Haryana. After that successful
installation, HNGI has now reconfirmed the commitment to Pneumofore’s rotary vane
technology.

The Naidu Peta Greenfield plant will be supplied with six of the largest air cooled rotary
vane pumps. The system will be controlled by variable frequency drives that equally
distribute the working load between the pumps and match the flow with the needs generated
by different productions. The installation will also be remote-monitored from the control room
by means of an ethernet network. This setup will allow HNGI to have total control over
the performance of the vacuum system and to reduce the energy consumption when the
maximum performance is not necessary.

The second project is the expansion of the Nashik plant performed through the construction
of a second furnace with a capacity of approximately 650 TPD. The new furnace will supply
glass to six latest generation IS lines that extensively use vacuum during the forming
process. The vacuum system, commissioned to Pneumofore and similar to the Naidu Peta
one, will grant the best performance with the lowest energy consumption and life cycle cost,
a core feature of the Pneumofore’s technology.
