Jan. 28, 2013 – The Ontario Glass and Metal Association will offer a free workshop called Health and Safety at Work, Feb. 7 at Alumicor in Toronto. Attendees will have a chance to have their companies' health and safety policy reviewed for free by Workplace Safety and Prevention Services, a Health and Safety Ontario partner.

The workshop will help glass industry health and safety representatives
by discussing rising Ontario Workplace Safety and Insurance Board premiums, Ontario Ministry of Labour inspections and
company policies that can help enhance safety. Presenters will also discuss workers' rights under the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act and discuss how it sets out roles for employers, supervisors and workers so they can work together to make workplaces safer.

Alumicor is located at 290 Humberline Dr. in Toronto. The workshop runs from 10:00 a.m – 12:00 p.m. To register, contact Steve Ringler at 1-905-827-295. The OGMA cautions that space for this workshop is very limited, so interested parties should act quickly.

Ringler says the association plans to host more workshops of this kind on a regular basis as a way to help out the membership.
