The Canadian Window and Door Manufacturer Association (CWDMA) has announced that there are are a limited number of high-profile sponsorship opportunities still available for Win-Door 2010.

Please note the pre-registration deadline is November 14TH. All seminars are free with your registration. All participants are welcome to visit the New Product display area and attend the testing demonstrations taking place on the show floor on November 17th and 18th.

Tuesday, November 16 – CWDMA Fall Meeting

Please note the CWDMA Fall Meeting will take place on the Win-Door show’s opening day. Join fellow CWDMA members in the Education Pavilion at 3:30 p.m. for Committee updates and information on the latest CWDMA activities.

5:00 p.m. – Show opens

Wednesday, November 17

Testing on the show floor takes place at 11a.m., 2 p.m. & 4 p.m.

9:00 – 10:00 a.m. Jeff Baker: Codes and Standards Update
Jeff Baker, CWDMA Technical Consultant, will present an informative update on Codes and Standards from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. Highlighting NAFS testing requirements for doors and upcoming changes in the building code and NAFS that window manufacturers will need to meet to achieve compliance with the new building code.

10:00 a.m. – Show opens

Returning speaker Bob Langdon will be featured from 11:00 a.m. to Noon in the first of his two seminars: Strategic Planning for Your Business. In this program, Bob Langdon, CPA and author of Managing Your Business for Profit will show you how to differentiate your products and services in the marketplace, thus enabling you to achieve a higher gross margin.
You'll learn how to design and implement a strategic plan for your business and return to your office with a new competitive advantage. Join Bob for his proven methods to:
    •    Capitalize on the "closely held business" advantage.
    •    Identify and sell to the upscale, service-oriented customer.

In this program, Bob Langdon, CPA and author of Managing Your Business For Profit will show you how to increase your understanding of the P&L statement, thus enabling you to prepare a viable financial forecast for your business. You'll learn Bob's unique Ten Step Process to improving profitability in your business immediately and for the years to come. And, you'll return to your business knowing Bob's proven methods of:
    •    Reading and understanding your Profit & Loss Statement
    •    Beginning the financial forecasting process
    •    Using financial forecasting to make your business more profitable

9:30 – 10:30 a.m – Peter Norman: Economic Forecast

Peter Norman, General Manager of Altus Group Economics, will present the Financial Forecast at Win-Door 2010. Mr. Norman is a specialist in economic and demographic analysis, construction economics, building products, technology studies and forecasting services. A welcome addition to the Win-Door program, Mr Norman has a well-rounded background in the real estate and constructions industry.

10:00 a.m. – Show opens

11:00 am – 11:45 – Steve Hopwood: ENERGY STAR – Phase Two Changes and More

Steve Hopwood from Natural Resources Canada will cover what's new in the October 2010 ENERGY STAR specifications, present tips on how to label for ENERGY STAR, discuss some of the do's and don'ts on submitting model information and take a look into the future to outline possible changes.

Noon – 1:00 p.m. – Lunch

2:00 – 2:45 p.m. – Miles Murphy: F.I.T. Program Update

Miles will review the development of the first Canadian program to certify installers of windows, doors and skylights. This national initiative, known as the F.I.T. Personal Certification Program, has been developed to support the need for quality installations that meet industry standards and best practices, while promoting energy efficiency and consumer confidence Join Miles for a progress report to date that will include timely information on the scope of the program, subject matter being developed for certification, knowledge and practice domains and more.
