Top Glass announces keynote speaker

Canada's new event for the commercial glazing industry, has announced
its keynote speaker: Katherine Jacobs, director of research and
development for the Ontario Construction Secretariat. Jacobs will
present her talk, "Rising barometer: a look at intentions and conditions
in Ontario's ICI construction industry" at 10 a.m. on May 29 at the
International Centre in Mississauga, Ont.

Jacobs will present her talk, "Rising barometer: a look at intentions and conditions in Ontario's ICI construction industry" at 10 a.m. on May 29 at the International Centre in Mississauga, Ont.

As director of research and operations at the Ontario Construction Secretariat, Katherine Jacobs provides a wealth of knowledge and insight on key trends affecting Ontario's ICI glazing industry. Working with industry stakeholders, Katherine has developed one of the largest depositories of construction-related statistics and undertakes and annual survey of ICI contractors. Key areas she will cover in her talk include the competitiveness of Ontario's glazing trades, safety trends, labour market conditions, demographics and apprenticeship, as well as a look at the OCS confidence barometer measuring general contractors' intentions. Ms. Jacobs holds a Masters of Environmental Studies from York University and an undergraduate degree in Economics from Queen's University.

Jacobs presentation kicks off a full day of learning and discussion with three additional technical seminars, plus a supplier showcase featuring over 20 of Canada's top providers of glass construction technology.
