Apr. 11, 2010 – The latest technology in hand-held vacuum lifting cups is being introduced by C.R. Laurence Co., Inc. (CRL). The company’s Sure-Grip 8” Vacuum Lifter (Cat. No. S338) is manufactured by CRL in Australia and provides 150 lbs. (68 kg.) lifting capacity.
Bill Gyore, CRL’s Glass and Glazing Product Manager, explains, “Our Sure-Grip 8” Vacuum Lifter has been tested by a third-party independent lab and was rated at 150 lbs. (68 kg.) with a big 3.3 safety factor, providing the greatest lifting capacity of any 8” pump-activated vacuum pump, yet it weighs less than half the weight of similar metal handle 8" pump-up vacuum lifters.”
Gyore continues, “The ½” (12 mm) rubber pad lip provides fast attachment to glass and other non-porous, flat surfaces. Extremely fast release from the work surface is attributed to the combination of this uniquely designed rubber pad and the new, specially designed relief valve placed safely inside the valve’s guard. The ergonomically designed shape of the soft contoured Sure-Grip provides a comfortable hold, and thousands of micro-pads are aligned in the handle to provide greater slip resistance.”
The S338 also features a built-in vacuum loss indicator that provides visual indication of vacuum loss. When the red line is exposed, the lifter is re-pumped to replace vacuum. Each S338 is shipped in a distinctive gray colored protective carrying case.
