PPG to debut SOLARBAN 90 glass at AIA

April 24, 2015  By PPG

April 24, 2015 – PPG Industries will debut SOLARBAN 90 glass at the 2015 American Institute of Architects (AIA) National Convention and Expo in Atlanta, May 14-16. It will also feature award-winning Solarban z75 glass and Solarban 72 STARPHIRE glass.

The newest addition to the PPG family of solar control low-emissivity (low-e) glasses, Solarban 90 glass combines industry-leading solar control performance with the aesthetic appeal of clear glass. Because of its neutral appearance, Solarban 90 glass harmonizes well with other building materials and can be combined in insulating glass units (IGUs) with ultra-clear Starphire glass or performance-tinted glasses by PPG.

Solarban z75 glass, recognized by Architectural Record magazine as one of the best products of 2014, also will be on display. Solarban z75 glass appears similar to Solarban z50 glass but is equipped with enhanced solar control performance, offering architects a second choice for a neutral cool-gray glass that is optimized for local climate and building codes.

PPG also will exhibit OPTIGRAY(R) and Solarban 72 Starphire glasses. As an ultra-neutral, warm-light-gray glass, Optigray glass is designed to maximize light transmittance, and to work with advanced Solarban glasses to enhance solar control performance.

Solarban 72 glass features a triple-silver coating engineered specifically for application on Starphire ultra-clear glass by PPG, the industry’s most transparent commercially available architectural glass. Designed to combine exceptional clarity with outstanding solar control, Solarban 72 Starphire glass was selected by readers of USGlass magazine as a product of the year in 2013.
