PGAA to showcase trade

March 28, 2013 – The Provincial Glaziers Association of Alberta will be participating in Skills Canada's Try-A-Trade event at the 2013 Provincial Skills Canada Competition, May 13 to 17 at the Edmonton Expo Centre. PGAA volunteers will be demonstrating glazing and fenestration fabrication skills to promote the glass construction trades to the students and young people attending.

March 28, 2013 – The Provincial Glaziers Association of Alberta will be participating in Skills Canada's Try-A-Trade event at the 2013 Provincial Skills Canada Competition, May 13 to 17 at the Edmonton Expo Centre. PGAA volunteers will be demonstrating glazing and fenestration fabrication skills to promote the glass construction trades to the students and young people attending.

The skills competition will also be the site of Girls Exploring Trades and Technologies, a mentorship program encouraging young women to become seek careers in skilled trades. GETT mentors will be touring the competition floor with their proteges and visiting the Try-A-Trade exhibits.

"We are seeking exposure to the youth worker and the betterment of our trade," said Lynn Allan, chair of the PGAA Education Committee.

Glass construction tradespeople wishing to assist at the competition should contact the PGAA.
