Oakville Glass and Mirror closing doors
December 17, 2018 By Ontario Glass and Metal Association
Oakville Glass and Mirror Ltd will be closing its doors in early 2019. After more than fifty years in business, Dieter and Ingrid have decided it is now time to retire. As such, Oakville Glass and Mirror will be winding down business effective January 10, 2019.
“It truly has been a wonderful 51 years and we would like to thank all our customers, suppliers, trades, and contractors who have helped make this experience so enjoyable and successful,” says Dieter Ringler, as he reflects on his many years in business.
Dieter purchased Oakville Glass and Mirror Ltd. in 1967, and over the years the business grew continuously. In 1974 the company expanded, adding a second location in Oakville and increasing its commercial fabrication space. The company expanded again 1980, merging both locations into its current location and over the years added additional fabrication space.
Five decades is enough to challenge any business but according to Dieter the key to the company’s success has always been a focus on exceeding customer expectations along with developing a firm understanding of new products and technologies.
Dieter is a past president of the Ontario Glass and Metal Association, as well as a former president of the Canadian Glass Association.
“This has always felt very much like a family. Together we have shared many happy times, seen friends and families grow, and helped many colleagues get their start in this industry.”
After the last day of business, the company will be holding an auction on January 19, 2019 to liquidate all company assets.
