Dec. 12, 2012 —Metal Supermarkets bestowed its highest honour, Franchisee of the Year, on Norm Hanson at the 2012 Annual Metal Supermarkets Conference. Hanson is the owner of two Metal Supermarkets branches in Edmonton and one in Winnipeg.

Franchisee of the Year, on Norm Hanson at the 2012 Annual Metal Supermarkets
Conference. Hanson is the owner of two Metal Supermarkets branches in Edmonton and one in Winnipeg.
The Franchisee of the Year Award is given annually to the franchisee exhibiting
the highest level of performance in areas such as growth, customer service,
safety and operations. Additionally, their branches best embody the spirit of
Metal Supermarkets’ mission, vision and core values.
Hanson, who has been with Metal Supermarkets for 20
years, owns three franchise locations that consistently rank highly in
revenues, and have grown on a continued basis at approximately 15 per cent for the last
two years. In addition to his Metal Supermarkets branches, Hanson owns Thermex
Metal Treating a commercial heat treating company in Edmonton.
This growth is due to consistent and superior delivery of service to customers,
and his refusal to rest on his laurels. He plans to open a fourth location in Saskatoon,
Sask., and has been an important brand supporter for Metal Supermarkets.

Supermarkets experience with others. His brother- and sister-in-law own and
operate successful locations in the Seattle
area, a former employee operates in Salt
Lake City and another former
employee operates in Vancouver.
