Sept. 5, 2012 – Matodi USA has picked up two new lines of glass handling
and processing equipment. The Greenboro, N.C.-based distributor will be
the exclusive North American representative for Haeco's Famatec glass
handling solutions and Keraglass heat treating and coating equipment.
Jack Van Meerbeeck will handle Canadian accounts.
The pneumatically-powered Famatec Friendly precisely counterbalances
heavy loads, allowing operators to suspend, rotate, tilt
and transfer product with ease and precision. Equipped with the
appropriate end-of-arm tooling, it is suitable for
manipulating, transferring or installing everything from wheels, bags,
dashboards and small engines to wood panels, glass plates and barrels.
Various models are available with load capacities up to 1,100 pounds, with a potential working radius of up to 20 feet.
The Friendly is available with a wide range of mounting options
including column, overhead, tracks, wheeled or with a free-standing,
fork-truck transportable base. Other Famatec models adapt to any
irregularly shaped product such as racks, engine blocks, castings,
drums, cores and rolls, using a wide range of available vacuum lifts,
specialized grippers and end-of-arm tooling.
Matodi USA is a recently founded company formed of experienced glass
industry executives. Matodi sells a complete line of tooling, spare parts and machinery, including in-line and CNC edging machines, cutting tables, washing machines, water treatment systems and other vertical processing solutions in addition
to Keraglass tempering furnaces, autoclave-less laminating systems,
screenprinting and roller coating equipment.
