Graco highlights ExactaBlend Advanced Glazing proportioner

July 9, 2015 – Graco highlights the benefits of its ExactaBlend™ Advanced Glazing Proportioner (AGP), ideal for cutting costs while improving accuracy in bonding and sealing applications in the glass industry. The ExactaBlend AGP features leading-edge technology and addresses many of the challenges unique to the glass industry.

Bonding and sealing applications, specifically for curtain wall and insulating glass, require that adhesives and sealants be accurately mixed from multiple components, and that this accurate mixture be dispensed on-ratio. While competing technology relies upon mechanically linked pumps or gear pumps without real-time ratio monitoring to mix materials, the ExactaBlend AGP monitors material ratios constantly. Additionally, the ExactaBlend AGP system automatically shuts down if off-ratio conditions do occur, preventing off-ratio material from being dispensed and ensuring consistent high-quality products. Automatic shutdown prevents the production of inferior products that must be deglazed or scrapped, costing valuable time and money.

Competing proportioner technologies also require more frequent material purges than does the ExactaBlend AGP. With limited need for purging, the Graco proportioner reduces waste material leading to significant cost savings that can add up to thousands of dollars per year. The ExactaBlend AGP also offers an ease of operation not seen in previous generations of proportioners due to the improved control its digital system provides. Operators can quickly and easily change a system’s mix ratio, verify calibration, and review material consumption information easily, with the push of a button.
