Continuing Education Unit (AIA-CEU) courses as half of a four-part event on
Oct. 11 at the Courtyard by Marriott Miami Coral Gables.

“Introduction to Glass,” which begins at 8 a.m., will discuss how glass is made,
different types of architectural glass, glass uses, and design criteria for
selecting and specifying glass. “Energy Efficient Glazings” begins at 10 a.m. and
will cover low-emissivity (low-E) glass coatings, the differences between
passive and solar control, low-E coatings and the impact of low-E coatings on
energy performance in buildings as demonstrated through simulation modeling.
Each session is 45 minutes and eligible for one AIA-CEU credit.

The two courses are part of “Advances in Architectural Glass and Coatings,” a
four-part AIA-CEU event co-sponsored by the Ideascapes group of PPG Industries.
