Sara Sjöberg named manager of quality for Kawneer North America
Kawneer Company has appointed Sara Sjöberg manager of quality for Kawneer North America. Sjöberg brings to the position 15 years of experience in quality management from various fields.

Oct. 7, 2010 – Kawneer Company has appointed Sara Sjöberg manager of quality for Kawneer North America. Sjöberg brings to the position 15 years of experience in quality management from various fields.
 
In her new position, Sjöberg is responsible for providing leadership and coordinating strategic quality initiatives across Kawneer’s manufacturing locations and service centers throughout the United States and Canada She collaborates with the commercial, manufacturing and support teams to ensure quality products are delivered on time and according to specification.
 
In 2008 as Alcoa’s Global Sourcing Manager, Sara’s efforts were recognized with an Alcoa Excellence and Innovation award for implementing a Metal Service Center strategy that helped increase company savings. Her other accomplishments at Alcoa include procurement negotiations that achieved positive improvement working capital.
 
Fluent in Spanish, much of Sjöberg’s experience in plant management, marketing, and quality engineering, comes from positions she held in Quality & Supplier Development for Tier 1 Automotive suppliers in Río Bravo, Tamaulipas, México and Detroit, Michigan.

Sjöberg is a Member of the American Society for Quality where she is also certified as a Quality Manager, Quality Engineer, Quality Auditor and Quality Technician. She received a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Spanish from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. In her new role, Sjöberg will be based out of Kawneer’s Norcross, Georgia headquarters.
