Sept. 7, 2011 – To address the growing demand for improved hurricane
impact protection, Kawneer has added two new window configurations to
its hurricane-impact resistant window offering. New configurations of
the company’s 8400TL IsoLock horizontal sliding window and AA 3350
IsoPort single hung window have successfully been tested for
hurricane-impact resistance and help meet code requirements.
Wind-borne debris, relentless rain and internal/external pressure
changes are all major causes of property damage and injury stemming from
hurricanes and violent storms. With the two new window configurations,
Kawneer has added even more layers of defense against devastating
weather. All windows certified as hurricane-impact resistant have been
successfully tested according to the standards set forth in the Florida
Building Code (TAS 201, TAS 202, and TAS 203) and ASTM impact and cycle
protocols and test standards (ASTM E1886 and ASTM E1996).
The 8400TL IsoLock horizontal sliding window offers increased security
and incomparable aesthetics. Featuring a four-inch frame depth, the window
takes on a whole new dimension. Several installation options are also
available for added flexibility. Ideal for heavy duty applications when
strength and security are critical, 8400TL IsoLock horizontal sliding window is performance tested for large and small missile impact (Zone 4,
Level D) and has been tested to meet a design pressure of 90 PSF.
Additionally, the window is factory silicone glazed to ease jobsite
timeline pressures.
Kawneer’s AA 3350 IsoPort single hung window can enhance occupant views
while providing exceptional performance. Available with a 3 ½-inch
frame depth, the window utilizes a polyamide thermal break, which
provides exceptional thermal performance. Also performance tested for
large and small missile impact (Zone 3, Level D), the window has been
tested to meet a design pressure of 50 PSF. AA 3350 IsoPort single hung window is factory silicone glazed.
