Kawneer's enhancement to Trifab platform
Kawneer has announced its new Trifab 451UT (Ultra Thermal) framing system.

June 10, 2010 – Kawneer has announced its new Trifab 451UT (Ultra Thermal) framing system.

As an enhancement to the company’s  Trifab platform, Kawneer says Trifab 451UT framing system combines superior thermal performance and aesthetics to enhance the beauty and sustainability of commercial or institutional building façades. Kawneer will introduce the product in its booth (#2271) during the 2010 AIA National Convention and Design Expo in Miami, June 10-12.  
 
Building codes continue to mandate increasing energy efficiency. As a result, architects, glaziers and building owners are tasked with improving the thermal performance of buildings through the use of thermally efficient products.  Kawneer says Trifab 451UT addresses this growing demand by leveraging the successful technology of the Isolock thermal break used in Trifab VG (VersaGlaze).  By employing a “dual” Isolock thermal break, thermal performance is increased without compromising structural performance.  In addition, advanced, thermally broken storefront systems allow building owners to take advantage of tax credit incentive programs and energy efficient certifications, such as LEED.  
 
Available with screw spline construction and a center aligned glass pane, Trifab 451UT allows for interior or exterior glazing to meet various project requirements. The framing system features a new HP (High Performance) sill design, which incorporates a screw applied end dam, ensuring positive engagement and tight joints between the sill flashing and end dam. Additionally, a new method of attaching the sill to the sill flashing via a raceway in the sill flashing eliminates the need for a blind seal required by many other flashing systems. Trifab 451UT has 2-inch sightlines and a 4 ½-inch frame depth.

Trifab 451UT can accommodate different color options with anodized and fluoropolymer painted finishes in a variety of colors. Solvent-free powder coatings add another green element to Trifab 451UT. This enhanced addition to Kawneer’s Trifab framing system platform will be available to the market June 21, 2010.
