Dec. 19, 2009 – The premiere staging of GLASSPEX INDIA, International Exhibition for Glass Production – Processing – Products, was a great success: 139 exhibitors from over 20 countries and 3,200 trade visitors took part in the recently held event in New Delhi. Both exhibitors and visitors reported that their expectations were fully met. The trade fair was organized by Messe Düsseldorf and its subsidiary Messe Düsseldorf India.

The exhibits at GLASSPEX INDIA 2009 included the entire supply chain, from glass production and processing to glass applications. Special features were the “Solar energy generation” show, the “Quality from Germany” joint exhibit of 38 companies and the Conference of the All India Glass Manufacturers’ Federation (AIGMF).

The visitors were representatives from the construction, pharmaceutical, food and beverage industry as well as from the communications and automotive sector. While the visitors were pleased with the innovations on display, the exhibitors reported a large number of very interested trade visitors, new business contacts and promising enquiries from both SMEs as well as large corporations – not only from India but also from Singapore, Malaysia and Iran.

The statement of Christian Roloff (Queen Germany and Queen–Glafit Switzerland) confirmed the reaction of the majority of the GLASSPEX INDIA 2009 exhibitors: “Participating in GLASSPEX INDIA was both a pleasure as well as a success for us. The first class hospitality and the high standard of the trade visitors brought about the decision to probably attend the fair in Mumbai in 2011 as well“.

The supporting associations iGlass, CREDAI (Confederation of Real Estate Developers Association of India), SESI (Solar Energy Society of India) and VDMA (German Engineering Federation) also praised GLASSPEX INDIA as a platform for international innovations. “The outstanding quality of both the visitors and the exhibitors, together with the demanding requirements made by Messe Düsseldorf in terms of service, cleanliness and the high standards of the trade fair clearly show that GLASSPEX INDIA is set to develop a network and become the leading platform for the Indian glass industry in the years ahead“, stated a representative from the VDMA North India office.

The next GLASSPEX INDIA staging will take place in Mumbai, India from January 12 – 14, 2011.  For further information on visiting or exhibiting at GLASSPEX INDIA 2011, contact Messe Düsseldorf North America at 312-781-5180 or online at www.mdna.com.
