Stephen Neis is the Director of Apprenticeship Delivery and Industry Support Services with Apprenticeship and Industry Training. Stephen has a background in both the cook and carpenter trades and also spent nine years teaching in the carpenter program at Lethbridge College before joining AIT in 2016. His unit at AIT looks after the development and maintenance of the apprenticeship education programs for all designated trades in Alberta and provides secretariat support to both the Alberta Board of Skilled Trades and the Canadian Council of Directors of Apprenticeship.

Stephen has been instrumental in the transition of the Apprenticeship Industry training programs and will be speaking on the history, development and future of the Skilled Trades and Apprentice Education Act (STAE) and the Designated Trades and Restricted Activities Regulations (DTRA).
