Jan. 6, 2010 – As demand for energy efficiency and sustainable design continues to increase and concerns over indoor environmental issues arise, Superior Window Corp. has unveiled a new website for its signature louver window. The site, www.thelouverwindow.com , is an educational resource for architects, builders and building owners seeking answers about the performance and design possibilities offered by louver windows.

“Superior has been manufacturing louver windows for more than fifteen years and is the largest manufacturer of louver windows on the market today,” says Larry Hellring, owner of Superior Window Corp.  “As thermal comfort, daylight control, energy efficiency, and sustainability, along with safety and security, become increasingly important to schools and other public and commercial building owners, we wanted to create a single website that showcases how a louver window will meet these needs in a single product.”

The Louver Window is an all-in-one, 5 1/2-inch deep combination louver and operable window system.  It offers an in-place active impact resistance system and meets the most stringent wind-borne debris requirements for large missile impact. The unique combination of an operable window and exterior louvers maximizes occupant thermal comfort by allowing users the flexibility to control the amount of daylight that enters the building and reduce the amount of solar heat gain. Additionally, by altering the louver angles based on the time of day, occupants can either completely eliminate glare or redirect the light, creating a more desirable and functional interior space. The aluminum louvers also provide protection against burglary and deter malicious damage.

The new website outlines the features and benefits of the louver window.  It also features project galleries and provides technical product and performance information, including detailed drawings, technical data, sustainability accreditations and references.
