Now it can be said: there was skepticism when Fenestration Canada told its membership it was holding its 2014 Annual General Meeting in Winnipeg, Man., - purported home of arctic weather and mosquitoes the size of small birds. At best, there was concern that the event would not see the numbers present at the tremendously successful AGM in
St. John's, Nfld., the previous year. But thanks to the tireless efforts of master promoter, Al Dueck of Duxton Windows, Winnipeg went down as an equally great success, attracting record numbers of attendees and putting smiles on everyone's faces with excellent education, accomodation and entertainment options.

New anti-spam laws will affect your communications

Bill Fast Bill Fast given C.P. Loewen Award
At the President's Dinner at the Fenestration Canada Annual General Meeting, Bill Fast, founder of Willmar Windows, was recognized for lifetime achievement with the C.P. Loewen Award. The award recognizes achievements in window manufacturing, leadership in innovation and market development, engagement with Fenestration Canada, family ties and philanthropy.

Fenestration Manitoba Fenestration Manitoba hits it stiff
The notorious "Winterpeg" gave Fenestration Manitoba golfers a beautiful, clear, 20-degree day with just enough wind to keep the mosquitoes in the bush at the challenging Rossmere Country Club in Winnipeg. The event, which has been held almost every year for over 30 years, brought 85 of Manitoba's window and door fabricators, dealers and suppliers together for only the second time under the Fenestration Manitoba banner.

CSA CSA, AAMA, WDMA release NAFS user guide
The American Architectural Manufacturers Association (AAMA), Canadian Standards Association (CSA) and Window & Door Manufacturers Association (WDMA) have released a User Guide to the 2011 AAMA/WDMA/CSA 101/I.S.2/A440, North American Fenestration Standard/Specification for windows, doors, and skylights (NAFS). The result of a multi-year effort by the three associations, the NAFS User Guide has received final approval and is now available publicly.
