Triple Seal Triple Seal acquires Guardian Rexdale
Triple Seal, which includes Independent Mirror Industries, has announced the acquisition of the Guardian Rexdale facility from Guardian Industries Canada, whose parent company is Guardian Industries, headquartered in Auburn Hills, Michigan. The acquisition will add laminated glass to Triple Seal’s fabrication product line as well as increased capacity for tempering, fabricating and IG units.

Griffiths Griffiths elected CEO of Quanex
Quanex Building Products Corporation, an industry-leading manufacturer of value added, engineered materials and components serving the energy-efficient building products markets, has announced that its board of directors has elected William C. Griffiths, 61, as chairman, president and chief executive officer of Quanex, effective July 9, 2013. Griffiths has served on the board since 2009 and succeeds David D. Petratis who resigned to accept a position with another company.

Dominic Abbotsford student wins AAMA scholarship
The American Architectural Manufacturers Association (AAMA) celebrated 13 consecutive years of furthering the careers and education of students pursuing a degree related to the building products industry by awarding seven scholarships to children of employees of AAMA member companies. The scholarship award winners were announced during the 2013 AAMA Summer Conference, held June 9 to 12, in Rosemont, Ill. Dominic Nickel of Abbottsford, B.C., was one of the winners.

Morley Morley named OACETT president
The Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists, a leading professional association of more than 24,000 members and the certifying body that issues the designations of C.E.T. and C.Tech., has instated Stephen Morley as OACETT's new president. During his presidency, he will lead the association through a thorough review of its strategic plan, while ensuring OACETT continues to deliver value to all members within the 15 disciplines and 28 local chapters it represents.
