AGM Fenestration Canada AGM attendees have a blast in St. John's
Any organization looking to have fun at its conference should put St. John's, N.L., at the top of its list. Fenestration Canada members found this out at the association's annual general meeting held May 29 to June 1 in Newfoundland's capital. Start with George Street - the members did. Shortly after the business of committee meetings wrapped up on the first day, members were convened in the lovely atrium of the St. John's Sheraton hotel where they were greeted by tour guides who welcomed them to the island and explained the plan for the evening.

Door AAMA publishes standard for multipoint locking hardware
The American Architectural Manufacturers Association recently published its first North America standard for multipoint locking hardware for side-hinged door systems. AAMA 909-13, Voluntary Specification for Cycle Performance and Testing of Side-Hinged Exterior Door Multipoint Locking Hardware, establishes a minimum performance requirement and test procedure to evaluate the durability of multipoint locking door hardware.

Toronto Biesse to open new Toronto showroom and service hub
Biesse and Intermac Canada have signed the lease on a new building in Toronto where the firm will open their new Toronto Sales and Service Center. The new 6,500 square foot facility will have a showroom packed with cutting-edge machinery that is powered up and ready for demonstration.

Fermax Roto Frank acquires Brazilian hardware manufacturer
Roto Frank has announced the recent acquisition of the Brazilian hardware manufacturer Fermax. Fermax was founded in 1974, has 300 employees, and is located in the city of Colombo, in the province of ParanĂ¡. Roto is strongly committed to strategic acquisitions, even in times of economic turmoil and insecurity. With the acquisition of the Canadian company Fasco in 2012, the construction supplier has cemented its position in North America.
