June 18, 2010 – Hartung Glass Industries and Holcam Sales, Inc. have announced that the companies have signed a definitive agreement under which Hartung has acquired Holcam, a long time respected Seattle based bath & shower enclosure manufacturer. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Hartung Glass Industries, parent company of Hartung Canada, is pleased to announce the location will continue operating as Holcam Sales Inc. “This acquisition marks the integration of two premier Bath Enclosure companies: Holcam and Agalite with highly experienced management teams, strong reputations for quality, skilled work forces and elaborate distribution networks, which will tremendously enhance the product lines and service levels we provide to our customers,” says Hartung Glass Industries President & Owner, Nick Sciola.
Established in 1960 by former owner John Holmes, Holcam’s bath and shower enclosure products, including it’s line of Eurolite heavy shower doors, are in high demand throughout the western United States supplied via a network of established dealers located in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, California, Nevada, Utah, Colorado, Arizona, Hawaii, Alaska, Alberta and BC.
Rick Wenala, who has worked with Holcam for 28 years and remains the company’s General Manager stated “Over the past 50 years we have been two companies operating in the same market with differing areas of expertise. Having the opportunity to work together will quickly benefit the entire customer base with expanded capabilities and increased functionality. We are excited and proud to be a part of it."
The acquisition will dramatically expand both Holcam and Agalite’s already diverse product offerings including new products from their Hartung Studio Decorative Glass line such as IMPRESSIONS screen printed ceramic frit, TOTAL Vision systems, Viewcol photographic film, laser etched patterns, designer cast, sand carved, V-Grooved and textured art glass as well as a variety of easy clean protective glass coatings including ShowerGuard by Guardian, HydroShield and ClearShield.
The Holcam acquisition, Hartung’s second major acquisition in less than six months, advances the company’s mission of controlled growth and increasing its presence as the leading supplier of fabricated glass products on the west coast. The addition of Holcam Sales to the Hartung Enterprise further solidifies the company’s role in the flat glass market and will increase the value that Hartung and Agalite delivers to customers.
