Dec. 3, 2013 – AGC Flat Glass Ibérica and the labour unions have just
signed an agreement aimed at raising the competitiveness of the Sagunto
plant in Spain in a lasting way.
The plant produces float glass and also processes
it into mirrors, laminated glass and matte glass. The plan includes wage
aspects and industrial aspects, in particular the following:
- wage reductions averaging around 10 per cent for all members of personnel, some 140 people;
- a substantial investment designed to raise the energy efficiency of the plant.
This
competitiveness agreement also opens the way to an extensive repair of
the float line at a subsequent stage, thus securing the future of the
plant.
