New director of sustainability at Kawneer

Kawneer Company, Inc., a leading supplier in the facade industry, has named Sneh Kumar Director of Global Sustainability. In this newly created position, Kumar will lead the development and execution of Kawneer’s sustainability strategy. The creation of this position aligns with Kawneer’s commitment to deliver an increasingly sustainable product offering to customers and stakeholders. This position will focus on product design and certification, along with supply chain transparency and optimization of Kawneer’s overall manufacturing footprint.

Kumar’s well-established career in the manufacturing industry has extended over more than 20 years, during which he has led the commercialization of 40+ high-performance building facade products and received multiple patent grants. Prior to accepting the Director of Global Sustainability position, Kumar served as a Product Manager for Kawneer’s Curtain Wall, Window Wall, Sun Control and Finishes, where he differentiated the Kawneer Curtain Wall portfolio with industry-leading seismic testing. He also led a significant energy performance enhancement strategy for the entire curtain wall portfolio using a warm-edge simulation and the addition of triple-glazing enhancements.

Kumar has been actively involved with industry associations, architects and customers, and he has served on the board of the National Fenestration Rating Council (NFRC). He is an invited speaker and panelist at multiple industry conferences each year. Kumar has a master’s degree in Engineering from the University of Massachusetts and a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology.
