"The dual-functioning line of Montag Tilt & Turn windows swing in like a door or tilt in at the top for ventilation, allowing homeowners to customize their interior environment," says Mitch Lewandowski, managing director of Montag. The inswing operable windows are available in sizes up to 3’ by 7’.
The company says that superior construction details make the Montag Tilt & Turn window an ideal choice for homeowners in coastal environments. The windows have an industry-leading design pressure of +65/-85 and are available with durable impact-resistant glass. Using Maco’s Tri-Coat multi-point locking mechanism for severe coastal environments, these windows ensure powerful protection and long-term operability. All Montag Tilt & Turn windows have been tested to meet Florida Building Code requirements, including those for the High Velocity Wind Zone of Miami-Dade County.
The solid wood frames are available in a variety of hardwood species, including Meranti and Ipe. According to Montag, each window is crafted by German craftsman with the highest-quality, best-engineered operational hardware available. Standard sashes of 3 1/8” are pure elegance and give the windows exceptional stability and durability.
The windows also take what Montag calls "the most active approach to water-resistance in the industry." In order to penetrate a Montag Tilt & Turn window, water must travel “uphill” three times, guided by an impermeable system of dual gaskets and double weep systems. Gravity and German engineering work in concert to keep even the worst storms at bay.
