Kawneer introduces new unitized curtain wall delivering ultra-thermal performance

July 22, 2015  By Kawneer

July 22, 2015 – Kawneer Company has introduced a new unitized curtain wall, delivering ultra-thermal performance, regardless of climate or location.

“The ultra-thermal performance that we have built into the new 2500 UT Unitwall™ System opens up greater possibilities for the architectural community who will now be able to use this high performing curtain wall for even more demanding building projects,” said Colin Brosmer, Vice President, Sales, Marketing and Product Development for Kawneer North America.

The curtain wall is a high-performance unitized system that offers architects and designers a broad range of design options providing seamless aesthetics that are becoming increasingly popular for its ability to offer views of bustling city life and other dramatic landscapes. The cost-effective system is ideal for office buildings as well as a variety of mid- to high-rise projects. Its virtually seamless glass walls connect interior building spaces with the outside world.

The ultra-thermal system also offers reduced fabrication and assembly times due to the one-piece polyamide thermal break, eliminating the need for pressure plates and fasteners which enable glazing contractors to meet tighter deadlines, while still accomplishing design and performance objectives for architects and building owners.

Stacked joints within the unitized system are designed to account for building movement, while two-piece verticals that allow for a continuous snap engagement maximize strength. The system has been tested in accordance with all major standards for curtain walls.

A 2-1/2 inch profile and flexible options present a wide range of design opportunities. Four-sided captured exterior covers allow for clear sightlines, while structural silicone glazed (SSG) configurations with a sleek, all glass appearance deliver a seamless transition between units.
