The change was made to better reflect the company’s full scope of services related to the building envelope, which include exterior glazing, wall, roofing and waterproofing systems.

evaluation and protection of the building envelope, has changed its name to GCI
Consultants, LLC. The change was made to better reflect the company’s full
scope of services related to the building envelope, which include exterior
glazing, wall, roofing and waterproofing systems.
The company is widely known
for its expertise designing and testing hurricane-resistant glazing systems
throughout the US and Caribbean. GCI also offers a much wider range of services
that offer clients comprehensive design, engineering and evaluation of the
entire building exterior.
According to Paul Beers,
managing member of GCI, “Our clients hire us to help prevent problems in
buildings under construction and to investigate problems and provide solutions
for existing buildings with performance deficiencies. Our thousands of
successful projects throughout North, Central, and South America and the
Caribbean are a strong testament to our enduring contributions in every type of
climate and region.”
The company was founded by
Paul Beers in 1988. Beers was one of the pioneers of the testing protocols for
impact resistant glass, which includes
the widely recognized 2×4 air cannon test which measures the resistance of
impact resistance glazing systems used for hurricane protection.
GCI is headquartered in
West Palm Beach, has locations in Orlando and Jacksonville, and is currently
opening an additional office in Miami.
