As part of the new concept glasstec will also be streamlined and the Saturday portion of the event will be cut to meet the requests voiced by numerous exhibitors. As a mirror of the glass market, glasstec 2010 will now also be catering to a segment that has seen particularly dynamic in recent times: solar production technology.

“solarpeq – International Trade Fair For Solar Production Equipment” is open to all companies offering process engineering/production equipment for thin film and crystalline photovoltaics for machinery and equipment. This also includes suppliers of the components and raw materials. Solarpeq will coincide with  glasstec 2010 in terms of dates and venue. One key distinction visitors will see is solar applications in building-integrated photovoltaics.

“Over the last two to three years we have seen many exhibitors at glasstec starting their own corporate divisions for solar production technology. With solarpeq we now offer these companies a dedicated platform and all other companies in this segment the unique opportunity to benefit from the established international structures at glasstec,” says Joachim Schäfer, managing director at Messe Düsseldorf.

The solar theme was already highly represented at glasstec 2008 with its “Glass and Energy” motto boasting more than 150 exhibitors. Glasstec 2008 included a range of exhibitors involved in the production and engineering of equipment for thin film photovoltaics where glass plays a significant role.

Glasstec 2010 and solarpeq 2010 will be held from September 28 to October 1.
