August 16, 2011 – A 28-year-old woman was hit by glass falling from a
highrise condominium building in downtown Toronto on Monday.

The woman was cut on the hand and arm while walking on Bay Street between Grenville and Grosvenor Streets. It's the fifth time glass has fallen from the two tower building. The first four incidents involved glass falling from balconies on the north tower, but glass fell from the south tower in the latest incident.

City deputy building official Jim Laughlin says the developer had already been ordered to remove glass from balconies on the north tower. Laughlin says inspectors will be taking a look at the south tower and the city will take whatever action is deemed necessary.
