Glass falls from RBC Centre

May 29, 2012 – There is glass falling from the sky in downtown Toronto. Two panes fell from about the 30th floor of the RBC Centre at on the evening of May 28. One pane fell at about 7 p.m. and the second plummeted after a police officer arrived on the scene. All major news outlets have covered the story as national news.

Police say no one has been injured and a contractor has been called in.

Police have closed several streets in the area.

PCL Construction was the general contractor and Antamex International of Concord, Ont., the curtainwall contractor for the RBC Centre, which was completed in 2009. Antamex is owned by Oldcastle BuildingEnvelope.
