Glass Canada editor turns marketer

Marketing Strategies & Solutions has appointed Chris Skalkos as an Account Manager.

Oct. 15, 2009, London, Ont. – Marketing Strategies & Solutions has appointed Chris Skalkos as an Account Manager.

Skalkos is well known throughout the glass industry as the former editor of Glass Canada magazine published by Annex Publishing & Printing. For 12 years he has covered the architectural flat glass and fenestration industries from the perspectives of contract glaziers, fabricators and manufacturers. His hands-on experience in this industry has given him a unique insight into an equally unique industry.

“I have visited hundreds of glass shops across the country and I have interviewed just as many suppliers and manufacturers to this industry. The glass industry is dynamic and constantly in flux posing unique challenges to companies that need to market their products in this business,” says Skalkos. “I plan to use every bit of knowledge I have gleaned over the last decade to help develop creative and successful marketing solutions for the suppliers and manufacturers in this industry.”

Established by Robert Adeland in 1997, Marketing Strategies & Solutions is a specialist in integrated communication services for industrial manufacturers and other business-to-business clients. “I have been watching Chris’ progress throughout the years as he presented the glass industry in each issue of Glass Canada magazine,” says Adeland. “Marketing Strategies & Solutions has been growing and adding Chris to the team will give us a tremendous asset in helping companies market their products and services to the glass industry.”
