May 28, 2009 – Bystronic glass has a new frame bending innovation: the spacerbender multi robot. This system has a new, height-adjustable transport rail that allows for the bending of stainless steel, steel and aluminum as well as a variety of plastic spacers.

With the system’s newly designed transport beam, the bending of Thermix profiles is simplified. A vertically travelling functional rail on the spacerbender multi lowers the working level and prevents the Thermix profile from colliding with the transport rail during the bending of the last edge. Through direct access, a change of the bending tool for stainless steel profiles with different widths can be achieved with even more speed.

Thermix and TGI profiles of different widths can be bent with a single tool. During a material change, stored data catalogues ensure constantly high quality bending results and minimizes the need for adjustments by the operator.
The Technology Centre Bystronic Lenhardt is the world's only machine manufacturer that offers automated solutions for all standard spacer systems in the insulating glass sector.

Due to their excellent thermal insulating properties and the current Energy Conservation Ordinance (EnEV), there is a high demand for the production of insulating glass units with "Warm edge technology.”
