Workers Compensation Act, Schedule 1 Update (addition of COVID-19) and 2021-2023 Construction High Risk Strategy. This session will begin with an overview of the recent resolution of the WorkSafeBC Board of Directors regarding “Adding Infections Caused by Communicable Viral Pathogens, Including COVID-19, to Schedule 1 of the Workers Compensation Act”. With the announcement on November 19, 2020 of new restrictions regarding COVID 19 WorkSafe BC will provide an update on job site safety plans and protocols. Also included in this session is an overview of the 2021-2023 Construction High Risk Strategy (CHRS) which is being designed to reduce the construction industry’s serious injury rate through risk-reduction strategies focused on health and safety responsibilities specific to hazard identification and controlling risk in relation to high-risk work activities. Learn about the strategy’s key elements and then participate in the Q&A session to provide feedback from your industry’s perspective.
