OGMA to explain COR and bonding at fall seminar

The Ontario Glass & Metal Association invites you to attend its 2018 Two-Topic Fall Seminar, Demystifying the Bonding Process and Certificate of Recognition (COR), Thursday, November 15 at the Richmond Hill Country Club in Richmond Hill, Ont.
If you are a glazing contractor, this two-topic lunch and learn could be the most important event you will attend this year. Suppliers to the trade will find it equally valuable. Bonding is a mystery to many in our business. Getting paid anytime is a challenge, but knowing how to protect your business when a project goes sour could be a matter of survival. You’ll also learn what is involved in achieving COR accreditation, a requirement that is coming up more and more as a condition of bidding many projects.

WHY YOU SHOULD BE THERE:How to go about using bonding to your advantage as a sub-contractor or supplier is often largely misunderstood. Topics to be discussed will include what is bonding and how does it work; how to set up and maximize your bonding as a tool to grow your business; the impact of the newConstruction Acton bonding; claiming on a bond; and using bonding as a tool to get paid.
Certificate of Recognition (COR) compliance is becoming a prerequisite for bidding many projects. The presentation will spell out what your company needs to do to work towards COR certification, including the approximate time required to complete the COR documentation prior to submitting to the Infrastructure Health and Safety Association (IHSA). The presenter will open attendees’ eyes to the amount of dedication required by all levels of a company’s staff to achieve a well-managed health and safety culture.
