Sept. 8, 2016 - The National Glass Association (NGA) and the Window & Door Dealers Alliance (WDDA) are pleased to announce the Express Learning topics for its upcoming GlassBuild America: The Glass Window & Door Expo being held October 19-21 in Las Vegas.   
Aug. 25, 2016 - The CGA 2016 Glass Connections Conference will be held September 13-14 in Ottawa, ON. This event is a highly focused educational and networking event that draws together more than 100 glaziers, architects, engineers, designers, spec writers, commercial construction contractors and building owners from across the country and North America. The Canadian Glass Association has added a free tour of the Canadian Science and Technology Museum to its Glass Connections program, Sept. 13 to 14 in Ottawa. The tour takes place on the first afternoon before the evening welcome reception. Pre-registration is required.
Delegates at the Insulating Glass Manufacturers Alliance 2016 Summer Conference sometimes had to tear themselves away from the breathtaking views and visits by the local wildlife long enough to concentrate on the excellent technical progam Aug. 8 to 10 at the Banff Centre for Creativity and the Arts in Banff, Alta. About 75 IG fabricators and their suppliers gathered to join discussions on cutting-edge technical innovations and changes to standards interspersed with lots of networking and a fun night at a mountain lodge.

Aug. 11, 2016 - The American Architectural Manufacturers Association (AAMA) will cover the new California building energy standards going into effect as of Jan. 2017, as well as some recently published installation documents, during a two-part webinar at 12 p.m. EDT on Tues., Aug. 23. These topics were chosen due to their impact on a large segment of the industry. This online presentation, "California Title 24 and Beyond: Industry Standards for Robust Installation of Challenging Window/Wall Systems," is sponsored by the AAMA Western Region and is free and open to all in the industry.
July 28, 2016 - A global leader in silicone structural glazing technologies has completed two technical presentations at GlassCon Global 2016, highlighting new research and innovative use of high-performance glazing products at the international conference July 6 through 9 in Boston, Massachusetts, USA. Industry experts from Dow Corning Corporation (Booth 203) shared the latest advancements in sealant products and construction techniques at the event, which is designed to facilitate communication among architects, researchers, engineers, consultants and other key industry groups.
June 30, 2016 - articipants at the American Architectural Manufacturers Association (AAMA) 2016 Summer Conference heard about the past, present and future of the electrochromic (EC) glazing market, thanks to a presentation by Dr. Helen Sanders. Sanders leads technical development and training for Sage Electrochromics. Additionally, she contributed in large ways to the industry's recently created Window Product Category Rule.
June 30, 2016 - At glasstec, International Trade Fair for Glass Production, Processing, Products, the sectors’ leading international companies have confirmed their participation. With the strong exhibitor registrations three months before the start of the event, the number of exhibitors and occupied exhibit space already exceeds previous events’ levels (at the last staging of glasstec in 2014, 1,217 companies occupied 652,300 square feet). glasstec 2016 will take place from September 20 – 23, 2016 at the fairgrounds in Düsseldorf, Germany.

Commdoor Aluminum will once again be a big part of Top Glass, Canada's event for the commercial glazing industry, taking place April 20, 2017, at the International Centre in Mississauga, Ont.
Top Glass broke records on April 20 with 383 attendees, including a strong turnout of 150 architects, specifiers and building engineers. The four one-hour education sessions were standing-room only as attendees flooded in to appreciate the presentations, which were eligible for continuing education credits. Top Glass was supported by generous sponsorships from Gold Sponsors Alumicor and Tremco; Silver Sponsors Commdoor Aluminum and RPM Rollformed Metal Products; and livestream sponsor Sika Canada.
The Ontario Glass and Metal Association held its spring golf tournament May 26 at Piper's Heath in Milton, Ont. The weather did its best to interrupt the day, but golfers got in most of a round under sunny skies following a delay while a thunderstorm passed through. Kudos to the grounds crew at Piper's Heath – the course remained in good condition and well-drained despite two hours of heavy rain. The tournament hosted 114 golfers with about 20 more people joining the event for dinner.
May 19, 2016 - The Canadian Glass Association has prepared a lineup of expert presenters for the 2016 Glass Connections Conference. This annual event will be held in Ontario at the Westin Ottawa Hotel on September 13 – 14, 2016. The event will open with an evening Welcome Reception followed by a full-day of industry programming.
