Jan. 24, 2014 - Fenestration BC chairman Terry Adamson has commented on FenBC's recent decision to pull out of the Canadian Glass Association. The B.C. association sent letters to the CGA on Jan. 21 announcing its resignation from the national association and its withdrawal from the licensing contract for the Glazing Specifications Manual.
Jan. 22, 2014 - Fenestration B.C. has cancelled its membership in the Canadian Glass Association in a letter sent to the CGA board yesterday. Fenestration B.C. was created in 2011 through the merger of the Window and Door Manufacturers Association of B.C. and the Glazing Contractors Association of B.C. The GCABC had previously been a member of the CGA, but the WDMA-BC had not.
Jan. 13, 2014 - The Insulating Glass Manufacturers Alliance (IGMA) announced today the speakers during its 2014 Winter Conference, scheduled March 3rd-7th in San Francisco.  The combined event will feature informative lunch presentations on several industry technical issues, networking sessions, meetings of several IGMA committees and more.

The Insulating Glass Manufacturer’s Alliance is a dynamic organization that is constantly reconfiguring its working groups to meet the present demands of the industry.
Win-Door 2013 was another tremendous success for the association, attracting another excellent crowd of window and door makers, distributors and retailers for three days of education, shopping and networking at the Toronto Congress Centre Nov. 12 to 14.
On October 10 the CGA hosted the Glass Connections Show in Calgary. A good crowd of 82 people registered to hear five very informative guest speakers.
Nov. 7, 2013 - The Insulating Glass Manufacturers Alliance has released details of its upcoming 2014 Winter Conference. The conference will take place March 3 to 7, 2014, in San Francisco, Calif. The opening activity is a night tour of Alcatraz. The Emerging Technology and Innovation Committee will meet at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory on March 4, and the remainder the meetings are at the J.W. Marriott Union Square. The Technical Committee will meet on March 5, Certification and Education on the sixth until noon and then education sessions will take place starting in the afternoon through Friday, March 7.
The CGA has adopted an accelerated schedule of monthly board meetings for the first Tuesday of every month at 1:00 p.m.
Today’s Canadian window and door manufacturing industry continues to move through an important developmental period and it is fortunate in being served by a revitalized leadership group and organization.
Sept. 17, 2013 - About 50 door pre-hangers and suppliers took in Fenestration Canada's seminar on NAFS-08 compliance in the Ontario Building Code at the Hilton in London, Ont., Sept. 12. The sold-out room was brought up to date on the new rules coming into effect Jan. 1 by Fenestration Canada technical consultant, Jeff Baker, J.F. Kogovsek of Maxam Marketing and a panel consisting of Haya Soghrati of Can-Best, Claudio Sacilotto of Intertek and Jennifer Wren-McDonald of Exova.

August 28, 2013 - Significant changes to the Ontario Building Code and NAFS-08 are scheduled to be implemented on Jan. 1, 2014. All companies including window and door fabricators, sellers and renovators will be affected. 
Fenestration Canada, in collaboration with major door supplier members, has scheduled a series of information seminars designed to update door pre-hangers on building code compliance, testing requirements and provide a general interpretation on the Ontario Building Code and NAFS-08.
Aug. 27, 2013 – The American Architectural Manufacturers Association will host an online contest on both Twitter and LinkedIn running two days: August 28 and Sept. 4 at 2:30 p.m. Eastern. The contest will feature quiz questions from AAMA’s FenestrationMasters program, the association's program for comprehensive professional education and certification.
There is a growing perception that a fundamental group of window and door fabricator owners is underrepresented at industry events, meetings and discussion forums.
