April 30, 2012 – Bomar Specialties a producer of advanced performance materials for energy (UV/EB), light, and other free radical cure applications, has announced its integration into Dymax Corporation, a manufacturer of light-curing adhesives, coatings, and equipment. As a result of the integration, Bomar Specialties will transition to Dymax Oligomers and Coatings and continue to provide innovative solutions to unique energy-cure application challenges.
Dymax Corporation, pioneers of light-cure technology more than 30 years
ago, co-founded Bomar Specialties in 1990, enabling the company to
achieve a secure source of supply while improving product quality and
expanding R&D capabilities. Dymax subsequently acquired 100 per cent
ownership of Bomar Specialties in 2001. Bomar, having established
itself as a key industry supplier of critical raw materials,
strengthened the company’s innovative culture and furthered its ability
to provide custom solutions to unique production challenges. The Bomar
name, long synonymous with that type of innovation, will be retained as a
Dymax Oligomers and Coatings brand.
Bomar oligomers are used to formulate adhesives, inks, coatings, and a
variety of other products. In addition to their ability to undergo free
radical polymerization, these versatile oligomers are the most
significant contributor to the physical performance characteristics of
the product including flexibility, chemical resistance, hardness,
adhesion, and more.
From a full line of commercially available polyether, polyester urethane
acrylate, and multifunctional oligomers, to newly synthesized and
select developmental materials, Bomar oligomers provide solutions to difficult formulation challenges. In addition to neat
oligomers, Dymax Oligomers and Coatings offers diluted and partially
formulated mixtures of performance oligomers with specialty monomers and
other performance additives, toll and custom manufacture of formulated
coatings and systems, and proprietary Dymax in-house formulated coating
solutions.
Dymax OC manufactures Bomar oligomers in a 30,000 square foot manufacturing facility located in Torrington, CT.
