October 25, 2017  By Biesse

Oct. 25, 2017 –  Biesse Group recently hosted a highly successful Fall Tech Tour in Italy for 16 North American Customers from nine companies.

Biesse Group Brand Sales Manager for BiesseEdge, RBO, Comil, & Bre.Ma Jason Varelli and Randy Jamison, Vice President Primary Accounts/Selco Brand Manager, guided the group through some of the most advanced production facilities in the world. Lago, Pianca, Scavolini, Snaidero, Veneta Cucine and Pedini were among the manufacturing facilities the group visited in the regions of Lombardy, Veneto and Central Italy.

“The tour visited a variety of medium to large manufacturers and we saw machinery from across our entire range with a strong emphasis on automation,” Varelli said.

Customers returned home with a new appreciation for automation and the advanced production capabilities they experienced in Europe.

“The manufacturing tours exceeded our expectation by spurring the imagination while also proving realities in action,” National Office Furniture Plant Manager Scott Berger said. “We at National have quite a bit to reflect on in the upcoming weeks and months regarding technology advancements utilizing some of the equipment displayed and discussed. The hospitality throughout our tour was tremendous. What an experience!”

Participants also attended the “Inside Biesse” event at Biesse Group’s HQs in Pesaro, where they were able to see all the innovative machinery and Italian genius that the 190,000 square meter Showroom has to offer along with live demonstrations of SOPHIA, the company’s new IoT platform. A total of 4,000 visitors were recorded as having attended the three-day event with 29.2% more incoming orders than last year.

“It was a great opportunity for our Customers to experience cutting-edge solutions in a production environment while discovering how the global market is implementing Industry 4.0,” Jamison said.

Solid Comfort Plant Manager John Tucker offered two major takeaways from his Tech Tour experience after a week full of new discoveries.

“The automation that I saw and the amount of product that can be pushed through with automation,” Tucker said. “And, of course, the show here at Biesse itself was very, very impressive. For me, it was a reminder of what Biesse can do and their capabilities. I really enjoyed seeing the passion and the craftsmanship that this company can provide for any Customer.”
