NGA releases Glazing Executives Forum itinerary

Sept. 5, 2012 – The National Glass Association has released the program for its Glazing Executive Forum taking place Sept. 13 at GlassBuild in Las Vegas, Nev. The Forum is sponsored by YKK AP, Sapa, Guardian, NSG Group and Hartung and counts for eight American Institute of Architecture learning credits.

Sept. 5, 2012 – The National Glass Association has released the program
for its Glazing Executive Forum taking place Sept. 13 at GlassBuild in
Las Vegas, Nev. The Forum is sponsored by YKK AP, Sapa, Guardian, NSG
Group and Hartung and counts for eight American Institute of
Architects learning credits.

The day starts with the State of the Glass Industry Panel
, which will address such issues as energy, technology, codes and new products. Panelists will include 
Garret Henson, vice-president of Sales at 
Viracon; Oliver Stepe, senior vice-president of sales and marketing at 
YKK AP; David Balik, president and CEO
 of General Glass International and Scott Clymire, vice-president of 
United Architectural Metals.

The first seminar is titled Green Building and LEED 2012, presented by Paul Nutcher, director of sustainability for the Think Agency. 
Nutcher will discuss the items and issues glazing executives need to be aware
of in the ever-evolving world of codes and rating programs.

Next, Shawn Donovan of Donovan and Associates will discuss Marketing to the Architectural Community, telling attendees 
how to know be more
proactive in getting their names and products in front of decision
makers of the design community.

Jeff Dietrich of Eco Trends will provide
insights on the glass industry in his State of the NGA talk, including financial and operating
trends, forecasts, and research.

Following a number of breakout sessions, the day will wrap up with a keynote panel discussion called Project Management Trends 
and Applications. The NGA promises an interactive and lively
panel discussion on trends in project management and how industry
leaders approach this important discipline. Glass Magazine reports the panelists will be Jeff Ricketts of Heinaman Contract Glazing; Jamie Davis of City Glass; Keith Burnham of Bagatelos Architectural Glass Systems; and
Chris Lamb of Giroux Glass. The session will be moderated
by Frank Ryle, author of Keeping Score: Project Management for
the Pros, a book and video unveiling a nine step approach to project
management.
