(IGMA) announced today the speakers during its 2014 Winter Conference,
scheduled March 3rd-7th in San Francisco.  The combined event will
feature informative lunch presentations on several industry technical
issues, networking sessions, meetings of several IGMA committees and
more.
The first full day of the event features a
meeting of the Emerging Technology and Innovation Committee at the
Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL).  In addition to a tour of
the Flex-Lab facilities at LBNL, the LBNL Research team will be
presenting during lunch on several projects.

During Wednesday’s schedule, featuring a
meeting of the Technical Services Committee, Julia Schimmelpenningh of
Eastman Chemical Co. will be presenting “Safety Glazing: Does it Make
the Cut?” during a lunch presentation.  Wednesday night also features
the annual “themed” networking session from IGMA with a special “60s
Magical Bus Tour” reception and themed dinner.

On Thursday, the event features a meeting of the Glass Safety Awareness
Council and the Certification and Education Committee.  The lunch
presentation is “Study: How to Measure Volatile Fog Objectively” by Dave
Cooper and Jonathan Herndon of Guardian Industries Corp.  The rest of
Thursday and all of Friday include education sessions for fabricators
and installers including Gas Filling by Randi Ernst featuring the famous
balloon races and other new activities, which highlight the benefits
and properties of exotic gases.  A panel presentation on Glass
Performance for Energy Efficient Fenestration, which provides specific
details on how to select the best glass for a specific application is
scheduled for the Thursday afternoon session.

“We’re combining our committee week and education seminar to provide
attendees with a total value-added program,” says Margaret Webb, IGMA’s
Executive Director.

IGMA President Frank Caporiccio of PPG Industries said, “The IGMA
meetings are a must-attend for everyone involved in the fenestration
industry. Our standard development activities are recognized by the
industry as addressing best practices for insulating glass production as
well as supporting the long-term performance, quality and efficiency of
these units.”

The IGMA Annual Conference takes place March 3-7, 2014 at the JW Marriott Union Square in San Francisco, California.
