December building permits highest since 2007
Feb. 7, 2012 - Municipalities issued building permits worth $6.8 billion in December, up 11.1 per cent from November. This is the highest level since June 2007. The advance in December was due primarily to an increase in multi-family dwellings in Ontario and commercial buildings in Alberta. | READ MORE

Feb. 3, 2012 - The Canadian economy appears to be on a long-term trend toward less dependence on the United States, according to a new study issued Wednesday by TD Economics. The study found that Canada's economic reliance on the U.S. in terms of share of exports and GDP has dropped steadily over the last decade.
