CRL-U.S. Aluminum launches ArcticFront Series 45X

April 7, 2016  By C.R. Laurence

April 7, 2016 – CRL-U.S. Aluminum is proud to announce the launch of its new ArcticFront Series 45X Storefront, which delivers optimal thermal performance with the installer-friendly features of a traditional storefront. A key component of the storefront is its dual polyurethane thermal break points that act as a superior thermal barrier.

The ArcticFront Series 45X Storefront is a center-glazed system that features a 2″ x 4-1/2″ thermal frame. It has been tested to the highest industry standards for thermal performance and air leakage per AAMA 1503/507 and ASTM E283 respectively. The NFRC-rated ArcticFront Series 45X Storefront can produce U-factors ranging from 0.37 using 1″ low-E insulating glass, to as low as 0.19 using specially configured insulated glass units. Additional features of the ArcticFront Series 45X High Performance Storefront include screw spline or shear block assembly, sill receptors that require no additional anchoring of the sill member, and interior or exterior glazing options.

“Our new ArcticFront Series 45X Storefront is engineered to meet evolving energy codes while retaining the installer-friendly design of a traditional storefront,” said Gerald Hendrick, President of U.S. Aluminum. “It’s a distinction that is sure to please architects, code officials, building tenants, and glaziers alike.”

The ArcticFront Series 45X Storefront utilizes CRL-U.S. Aluminum’s new ArcticFront Series 375-T High Performance Medium Stile Thermal Doors. The doors are 2-5/8″ thick and the stiles are 3-3/4″ wide. Series 375-T High Performance Thermal Doors are NFRC Rated, and are thermally broken utilizing 20 mm struts. Together with the 45X Storefront System, the doors increase energy efficiency by helping maintain desired interior temperatures. The Series 45X Storefront is compatible with all CRL-U.S. Aluminum thermal windows.
