Win-door in Toronto

New Educational Format
For 2008, the CWDMA Education Committee and the Win-door Show Committee have been working hard to bring new ideas to the show. A new “Education Pavilion” is being created on the show floor, and this year, the seminars will be held during show hours to get away from the “Early Morning Blues” suffered by so many. They will be held throughout the day so people can plan their schedules accordingly. The seminars will include the following topics:

“Energy Star” – hear the latest on the program, find out how your firm can comply, and learn about the benefits available to participating manufacturers. Speakers will include CWDMA Technical Consultant J. Baker, Office of Energy Efficiency’s S. Hopwood, and P. Lewin, Vinyl Window Designs. This seminar will be presented at 12:30 pm on Wednesday, November 12th in the new Education Pavilion on the show floor.

“Rev up your R&D efforts with help from Revenue Canada” -Lynda Sturgeoff, Research and Technology Manager, Canada Customs and Revenue Agency, and her colleagues Richard Lee and Gary Grieco will deliver a 1-hour seminar on Wednesday, November 12th at 10:30 am in the Education Pavilion. The presentation will primarily try to de-mystify the grants available for research and assist interested parties on how to apply and what is covered by the grants. Financial criteria will also be covered. Learn how to make R & D “pay for itself”.

A seminar on Leadership, Self Management and Performance, to be presented by Bob McHardy, SELFMANAGEMENT Group, will be offered on Thursday, November 13, 2008 at 10:30 am in the Education Pavilion. The focus of the presentation is self management as the #1competency of successful people; performance equation and the elements of performance; coaching vs. coaxing; accountability and responsibility and how to coach for both; how to coach for self commitment and how to get people to do what you are paying them to do.

WIN-DOOR Energy Efficiency Showcase
