Oct. 28, 2011 - Developed by industry experts, IGMA will present the Performance and Innovations educational seminar on Dec. 7 and 8 at the Vancouver Airport Mariott in Vancouver, B.C. This day and a
half seminar is topic-specific and offers participants a dos and don’ts best practices approach for the
manufacture of quality insulating glass units.
IGMA, a combined U.S and Canadian organization, is
recognized as the world's leading authority on the
engineering and manufacture of insulating glass. Its
international certification and testing programs are
backed by over 30 years of industry expertise.
Under discussion at the seminars: What is an insulating glass failure? Is it a fogged unit with or without sealant adhesive loss? Is it cracked glass or damaged coating? Could it be as simple as a displaced spacer? Or does it involve other impairments such as contaminants, argon loss or visual and thermal issues in non-flat glass?
Seminar participants will find out what causes these occurrences and how to
prevent them. They will also learn to determine whether failures are
due to issues with manufacturing, glazing or
installation.
