Patrick Flannery CWDMA to become Fenestration Canada
Written by Patrick Flannery
June 1, 2011 - Canadian Window and Door Manufacturers Association president Kevin Pelley unveiled a new name and logo for the association at its May 26 conference in Banff, Alta. The CWDMA will continue to use its current acronym in conjunction with the name Fenestration Canada until the Win-door show in November, at which time Fenestration Canada will be launched as the official name of the association.

Canadian Window and Door Association president Kevin Pelley unveiled a new name and logo for the association at its May 26 conference in Banff, Alta. The CWDMA will continue to use its current acronym in conjunction with the name Fenestration Canada until the Win-door show in November, at which time Fenestration Canada will be launched as the official name of the association.

Pelley acknowledged there had been a lot of questions about the name change, but said the decision came after consultation with a branding consultant and a perceived need to freshen the group's image. The CWDMA board decided the new name would better reflect the national nature of the association and prevent confusion with the various provincial associations. Pelley also remarked that Fenestration Canada was a better name because it is the same in both French and English.
