Nov. 30, 2010 – Unicel Architectural and Technical Glass Products (TGP) have announced the availability of Unicel’s patented Vision Control louvers-in-glass combined with Pilkington Pyrostop glazing from TGP. This is the first such product assembly to achieve Underwriters Laboratories (UL) fire protection classification. Vision Control insulating glass units now incorporate glazing with fire-ratings of 45, 60 and 90 minutes.

The combined Vision Control and Pilkington Pyrostop glazing assembly has been UL fire-rated for doors, windows, transoms and sidelights.

Vision Control is a patented, hermetically sealed glass unit combining louvers within glass that can be customized to virtually any shape for interior or exterior glazing applications. Pilkington Pyrostop is a fire-rated and impact safety-rated glazing material that blocks radiant heat, helping protect people and valuables on the non-fire side of the glass where heat transfer might be a concern. TGP is the sole North American supplier of Pilkington Pyrostop.
