Sept. 28, 2010 – Vesuvius has announced an addition to its offering of fused silica glass tempering rolls with the launch of the patented Smartly Driven all mechanical end cap attachment system.
According to the company, this unique end cap attachment development uniquely applies an environmentally and ergonomically friendly end cap system eliminating the need for a resin bond requiring chemicals such as formaldehyde.
Vesuvius says the Smartly Driven End Cap is a superior product capable of withstanding arduous temperatures and torque operating condition. The maximum operating temperature has increased to 350° C, compared to 150° C with the resin bonded design.
Vesuvius manufacturers and designs fused silica products for the solar, glass fabricating, glass forming and foundry industries.
