Vitro glass systems now available in BIM
Jan. 12, 2010 - Vitro America now offers building information modeling (BIM) data on a range of its glass systems. Architects, specifiers, glaziers and other building industry professionals can access Vitro America's library of BIM objects through the ARCAT website.

BIM product models are available for Vitro America's Envision glass systems, including all-glass entrances; sliding, stacking, and clad doors; glass walls; handrail systems; and shower enclosures. Vitro America will continue to add other architectural products to its library of BIM models. Users can access Vitro America's BIM models in a range of popular file formats such as Autodesk Revit, Google SketchUp, and Bentley Architecture.

"BIM is rapidly becoming the way architectural design gets done," says Alice Dickerson, Director of Sales and Marketing for Vitro America. "The three-dimensional, detailed product models allow building professionals to quickly specify our products in their buildings and to share common data among all of the players. Most design professionals are familiar with ARCAT for finding specification data and other information to make informed product selections, so we thought it would be an especially effective platform for placing our BIM models."

Vitro America provides the building community with a number of tools and services to make their jobs of designing, specifying and installing glass and related products simpler. For more information, please visit www.vitroamerica.com .
